Botrytis

Botrytis is a whitish-grey fungus that can infect wounds on both the stem and the fruit. In the early stages, the tissue surrounding a damaged area begins to soften and slightly discolor; it turns brown in the case of stem infections, and becomes slightly pale in the case of fruit infections. In later stages, the tissue collapses and white or grey fungal growth becomes visible.
